The Donna P. McCullum Foundation for Educational Excellence proudly recognizes Kelsey Murray as the 2026 Scholarship Recipient. Sicileigh Hunt recognized as a 2026 Scholarship Finalist. A leader, mentor, and trailblazer, Sicileigh has demonstrated courage, service, and a commitment to helping others believe they belong. Emily Sosa is recognized as a 2026 scholarship Finalist. Inspired by compassion, perseverance, and a desire to advocate for others, Emily plans to use her voice to make a difference in the lives of families and communities. As she continues her educational journey at the University of Montevallo, we celebrate a young woman whose future is filled with purpose and promise. Madisyn Mcintosh the 2026 Third Runner-Up. Through scholarship, leadership, and service, Madisyn has demonstrated a commitment to excellence that extends far beyond the classroom. As she prepares to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham, we celebrate a young woman determined to use her gifts to help others heal, grow, and thrive. Eden Moody recognized as our 2026 first Runner-Up. A gifted advocate, leader, and servant, Eden has dedicated herself to creating spaces where others feel seen, valued, and empowered. As she begins her next chapter at Spelman College, we celebrate a young woman whose influence will continue to uplift and inspire generations to come. Ms. Tyra Davis- 2025 DPMFEE Scholarship Recipient
Tyra Davis is a standout scholar whose passion for leadership, advocacy, and academic excellence has shaped her high school journey. She has been active in community service, school organizations, and youth leadership programs, consistently showing initiative and commitment. Ms. Morgan E. Richardson- 2024 DPMFEE Scholarship Recipient
Morgan, a recent graduate of Thompson High School, embodies a deep-seated commitment to law and justice, ignited by her father—an attorney—and fostered by her mother, who cultivated her speaking abilities. Embarking on her journey at Spelman College this fall, Morgan will pursue a major in Political Science on a pre-law track.
Her goal is clear: to champion equality, fairness, and justice. Actively engaged in her community, Morgan has made a lasting impact through initiatives like Backpack Buddies and leadership roles in Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She has also excelled as Captain of the Debate Team and held presidency in multiple school organizations.
The Donna P. McCullum Foundation is honored to support Morgan Richardson as she embarks on the next chapter of her academic journey. Her dedication to academic excellence, leadership, and service sets her apart as a truly inspiring individual committed to making a meaningful impact on her community and beyond. . 2024 Scholarship Recipient Finalists
Kennedi C. Robinson, a recent graduate of Shades Valley High School and finalist for the Donna P. McCullum for Educational Excellence Scholarship Award, exemplifies determination and compassion in her pursuit of higher education. She will attend Troy University this fall, where she plans to continue her academic journey. Kennedi has shown exceptional academic achievement and is actively involved in community service, notably with the Big Brother Big Sister Program and volunteering for Autauga County storm victims. Her aspiration to become an attorney is fueled by her passion for justice and advocacy, aiming to inspire young women of color through her future career.

Kennedy R. Allen, a graduate of Shades Valley High School and finalist for the 2024 Donna P. McCullum Foundation for Educational Excellence Scholarship Award plans to attend Tuskegee University. She has held leadership roles in various organizations, including Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), and has volunteered extensively with the Birmingham Hope Lodge Cancer Society and the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. Kennedy's dedication to agricultural sciences and animal welfare fuels her aspiration to advocate for environmental and animal rights issues as she pursues a career in law.

Kenzie M. Moore is a recent graduate of Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School in Montgomery, Alabama and finalist for the Donna P. McCullum Foundation for Educational Excellence Scholarship Award. Kenzie has set her sights on attending Spelman College this fall to pursue her dream of becoming an engineer. Kenzie's passion for engineering is matched by her commitment to using technology to empower minorities and promote diversity within the tech industry. Her leadership roles and extensive community service reflect a deep dedication to making a positive impact, showcasing her potential to drive meaningful change through innovation and advocacy.

Ms. Zena Terry- 2023 DPMFEE Scholarship Recipient
Zena is a graduate of Ramsay International Baccalaureate High School. Zena has participated in a number of extracurricular activities, served in a variety of leadership roles, and accumulated several hours of volunteer and community service. She has served as Student Ambassador for the Federal Reserve Bank of America, State Representative for the Be Strong National Non-Profit Organization, and more. Zena is the former Miss Alabama Junior Teen. She plans to attend Tuskegee University this fall where she will pursue her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) while completing the prerequisites to become a nurse anesthetist. Zena wants to eventually pursue her Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) and open her own family urgent care facility in inner-city Birmingham, Alabama. Zena is the founder of Color Me Confident, a non-profit organization that focuses on bullying and building self-confidence.
2023 Scholarship Recipient Finalists
Carrington is the 2023 Miss Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama and will represent the state at the National Distinguished Women's competition later this summer. Carrington is a graduate of the Jefferson County International Baccalaureate High School where she participated in a number of extracurricular activities, served in a variety of leadership roles, and accumulated several hours of volunteer and community service. She will attend Vanderbilt University this fall where she plans to study Neuroscience and African American Studies on the premedical track. Carrington is the founder of Unmasked: The Simone Project, a non-profit organization that advocates for social justice and minority history

Asia is a graduate of McAdory High School where she participated in a several extracurricular activities, served in several leadership roles, and accumulated several hours of volunteer and community service to include volunteer work in the Women's Oncology Department at UAB hospital. Asia worked alongside various nurses as they worked with patients. Asia will attend The University of Alabama this fall where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Asia's desire is to enhance the well-being of individuals, teach in areas where there is a shortage of knowledge such as how to manage chronic conditions and make healthy choices, promote healthy lifestyle changes, and bring attention to contemporary health problems and potential solutions within her community.

Jaidyn is a graduate of Shades Valley High School where she participated in a number of extracurricular activities, served in several leadership roles, and accumulated many hours of volunteer and community service to include the Grace Klein Community, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Inc, Children's Hospital and more. Jaidyn will attend The University of Alabama this fall. Because of the underrepresentation of African Americans,
particularly African American women, in STEM fields, Jaidyn plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems.

Ms. Alexandria Stone-2022 Scholarship Recipient
Ms. Alexandria Stone is the DPMFEE Scholarship Recipient. Alexandria graduated from Hoover High School with a 3.96 grade point average. She is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) majoring in Performing Arts. Dr. Cordelia Anderson, professor of performing arts at Alabama State University, is serving as Alexandria’s mentor. One of Alexandria’s favorite quotes is from Bishop T.D. Jakes- “If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose.” She is inspired by these amazing African American women: Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge, Angela Bassett, Debbie Allen, and Viola Davis!
2022 Scholarship Recipient Finalists
Ms. Janna Calhoun -Jackson State University Janna wants to become a Social Media Manager for a professional sports team, and eventually a sportscaster for a major sports company. Although Janna knows that historically, this arena has been male-dominated, she is inspired from a quote from the late Shirley Chisholm, “If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
Ms. DaJa’ Moore -Tennessee State University DaJa’ is currently majoring in dental hygiene. After graduation, DaJa' plans to work as a Pediatric Dental Hygienist. She also plans to attend dental school and eventually open up her own Pediatric Dental practice.
Ms. Kai Moore -Jackson State University Kai is currently majoring in computer engineering. It is Kai's belief that "the number of girls interested in STEM increases when they have female role models to inspire them and help them envision themselves in these roles."
Ms. Alyssa Christian-2021 Scholarship Recipient
Alyssa graduated from Hoover High School with a 4.0 grade point average. She is currently enrolled at Emory University majoring in Biology/Pre-Med. Alyssa was currently accepted in the South Alabama Medical School Program where she will complete two summer internship programs. Once she completes her program, she will have a reserved spot in their medical school program.
Ms. Jada Owens-2020 Scholarship Recipient
Ms. Jada Owens graduated from Bob Jones High School with a 4.0 grade point average. Jada is currently enrolled at Xavier University on the pre-medicine track.
